Obituary of Fay Maxine Armsworthy
89, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, surrounded by her loving family on 7 Centre, Halifax Northwood. Born in Lake Ramsay (New Ross) on February 22, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Arthur (Lynwood) and Samantha Turner. Fay moved to Halifax at a young age and while working at Leaman’s met the love of her life. Ken and Fay married and lived in Herring Cove with their three children. After starting their family, Fay did volunteer work at Camphill with the veterans, Girl Guides/Brownies and at the school library in Herring Cove. Fay’s beautiful smile and kind heart made it easy for her to make friends. Fay was an excellent cook/baker and always had extra for family and friends. She was a woman of strong Christian belief and loved going to church. Fay was a loving wife, mother, nan and great nan. She will be missed by her son, Dwayne (Sandra), Portuguese Cove, her daughters, Natalie, Calgary, AB, and Cathy (Leigh), Cole Harbour, sister, June Redden, Scotsburn, and her close sisters-in-law, Phyllis Westhaver, Hubbards, and Jean Armsworthy, Spryfield. She will be sadly missed and remembered for being a proud Nan to Amanda, Andrew, Joseph, Scott, Spencer, Mitchell, and Haley, and great-grandmother to Samantha, Natalie, Cadence, Ryatt and Brooklyn. Fay was predeceased by her loving husband of 47 years, Kenneth, son, Joseph, sister, Gwendolyn Bezanson, brothers, Lynwood and Aldon Turner, and sons-in-law, Andrew Klatt and Steven Robertson.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Berkeley Green Street location. Also, a special thank you to the staff of 7 Centre, Halifax Northwood for their loving care, kindness and the compassion shown to Fay and her family over the past three years.
There will be no visitation. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 16 at 1p.m. from the funeral home chapel, with a reception to follow. Family flowers only by request, in lieu, donations in Fay’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
