My sister Joan was an intelligent, down to earth, competent woman. She excelled at everything she set her hand to. She loved her family with a deep, selfless love. They always came first. Joan was a wonderful home maker. She could put together a wonderful meal with what seemed like no effort at all. Her flower and vegetable gardens bloomed and flourished under her care. She was an accomplished tailor and knitter. Joan never shied away from hard work and when a problem presented itself, she figured out a way to solve it. My sister set a fine example for all the women in our family and I will always treasure her memory.
Joan was a great prayer warrior. She prayed for all of us, all the time. She always seemed to know when I needed support and would send me prayers in the mail when she knew I was facing a difficult time.
I will remember Joan’s wisdom, kindness, generosity, determination and love. I take great comfort knowing that our Heavenly Father has welcomed her with love and that she is reunited with lost loved ones. God will watch over my sister with gentleness and love. Until we meet again. Rest in peace. Amen
