Obituary of Gerald Francis Hayes

Hayes, Gerald Francis, of Halifax. 

It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Gerald Hayes, at Halifax, on August 17, 2022. Born in Halifax, he was the son of Marjorie Burchell (Rodenizer) and the late Laurie Joseph Hayes. 

Gerald was an employee of NS Health and in his younger years he enjoyed fishing and hunting in St Margaret's Bay and camping. 

Surviving are his children Tanya Kelly and Renee Bragg (Chad); grandchildren Declan and Bryson Bragg and Jameson and Fiona Kelly; mother Marjorie Burchell; sisters Heather Hayes, Chrystal Burchell and Lynn Hayes; brother Paul Hayes (Mary). Also survived by the mother of his children Deborah Kelly as well as many nieces and nephews. 

Aside from his father he was predeceased by brother Wayne Hayes and stepfather Clarence Burchell. 

Visitation will take place on Thursday August 25, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 pm at J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax.
