Belated condolences to Dorothy's family. A memory I'd like to share is of being treated by Dot to a couple of ice skating exhibitions in Halifax many years ago. She surprised me on both occasions as she knew I was a big fan. Just an example of her thoughtfulness to others, Fondly remembered.

Sad to hear Aunt Dot passed away but happy she will be together again with her previously deceased relations in heaven. Here is picture of Aunt Dot with my mom and Aunt Dot sister, Norma Thompson, who passed in 2014. Condolences to the living on the loss of a friendly lively woman, my Aunt Dot.

May the warm memories of your Mom replace any sadness that you may feel.
I have so many fond memories of Dot when I was young, from sleep overs at Chebucto Head with Susan, and Dot supervising us making cookies, to Dots major involvement in the Ketch Harbour Church fair every year .
She came from a generation of strong, hard working women, that made ever summer fair worth waiting for.
Her infectious smile and her grace will not be forgotten
My thoughts are with you all, may she Rest in Peace

I loved Aunt Dot's (we have known her as this forever) energy, she had a way of always keeping you moving and doing something lol. She was the kindest, sweetest and most loving woman. I have a ton of memories but only few photos, Moms birthday party are these photos and we all had a turn talking with her and hugging her.
My condolences to the family, I love you all dearly.

I can’t think of Ketch Harbour without thinking of Aunt Dot. Before we went to Germany in 1959, she ruled the roost from the house with the balcony just down from the school. Velvets cheese sandwiches were a treat. After we came back it was making my way out to the lighthouse to play with my cousins. Later on it was the house on the corner near the government wharf. Aunt Dot always made me feel a part of the family. She was a vibrant part of her community. Our thoughts are with the whole family. She will be missed.

I will always have such fond memories of Aunt Dot. I loved staying with her when I visited Ketch Harbour and we’d stay up late drinking tea and catching up on all the family news. She was a gracious host and her table was always full. Most importantly, she introduced her older brother Bill to her girlfriend Mary in the early 1950s and my parents’ long marriage was the happy result. My condolences to the Kiley family and especially my cousins Anna, Karen, Kevin, Susan, and Paul. May she rest in piece.

Please accept our heartfelt condolences on the loss of your mother. I first met your Mom when my Mom, Shirley (nee:Hennigan/Ware) took me to cousin Dot’s home. Dot’s home became a regular place to visit every time we found ourselves back in Ketch Harbour. We shared the privilege of many harbour walks with your Mom. She gave us a great many history lesson as well as providing the Martin and Kiley family histories that also involved sharing in many cups of teas and something tasty to snack on.
Your Mom was one of the kindest and most generous people we knew. She would always say, “Come in, come in” as we stood at her back door and looked out on the lovely scenes of Ketch Harbour. We would stay for long chats. Your Mom also introduced us to Frenchy’s and how much we loved sharing all of our great finds.
We consider ourselves most fortunate to have reconnected with family in Ketch Harbour. Your Mom knew the importance of family and wanted to make sure the rest of us did too.
Please know how much we loved her and how much we will miss your Mom. Sending you much love at this time in your lives. Take care through your grief, Janet and Rob Lovegrove
