Obituary of Cassie Reid Harpell

On the 16th of March 2022 our beloved mother went to be with her Lord and join her husband in the beautiful place called heaven.

Cassie was born in Beaverbank, Nova Scotia on February 17th, 1930 daughter of Irving and Rose Brown. She was married to her beloved husband, Gordon for 58 years. Gordon went to heaven 16 years ago on February the 19th, 2006.  Cassie is survived by her three children:  daughter Sharon, sons Gary and Stephen,  5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. 

Cassie and Gordon married early in Gordon's military career, and they were stationed in Greenwood NS, Summerside PEI, Parent QC, Vancouver BC, Beaverbank NS, Moisie QC, and St Hubert, QC before retiring and moving back to Nova Scotia.

Until her death Cassie held the distinction of being the oldest living member of Faith City Church in Halifax where a childhood friend, Rita Clark’s mother took her to Sunday school on the back of a pickup truck and where she found faith in God at the tender age of 10.  Cassie will be greatly missed by her family.

Visitation will be on Tuesday March 22, 2022 at J Albert Walker Funeral Home, 149 Herring Cove Rd, Halifax from 11:00 am to 12:45 pm followed by a Celebration Of Life service at 1:00 PM which will be livestreamed here at service time: https://event.forgetmenotceremonies.com/ceremony/?c=365746de-1e0d-4d2c-98b9-ffa781fc6dc6
