Obituary of Wilfred Crawford
Age 72, Beechville, NS, died peacefully surrounded by family at the Victoria General Hospital on Thursday, August 11, 2016. Wook was born on May 9, 1944 in Yarmouth, NS and was the son of the late Ivan and Marguerite (Falls) Crawford.
He worked as a roofer with several companies for many years. In his earlier years, Wook was an avid bowler with the Beechville Rockets Bowling League. He had a love for cars and was known for owning the best cars in the city. He was a member of the Beechville Baptist Church and the Men's Brotherhood. He loved baseball and was a fan of the Beechville Rockets .He also loved the Blue Jays and any sport his children/grandchildren participated in. He was loved by his family and was known as Dad, Grampy, Papa, Pups, Uncle and Yook.
Wook is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Patsy (Jarvis) Crawford; sons: Blair (Brenda), Randall (Tammy), Troy (Marlene), Dion (Angelina), Tony (Lisa); special sons: Alfred (Darlene), Kelly (Janice) and Michael (Freda); daughters: Venessa (Milo), Marsha (Michael) and Yvette (Shon), special granddaughter/daughter Narissa (Kevin), all of Beechville; brothers: Aubrey (Leona), William (Louise) and James all of Greenville; sisters: Helena, Angelina (Oscar), Myrtle (Edward), Ethel (Melvin) all of Greenville, Theresa (Phillip), Coldbrook, and goddaughter Amanda (David), Calgary, AB, best friends: Percy Jarvis and Lou Lucas; 34 grandchildren, 24 great-grand children and 2 great-great grandchildren; many brothers and sisters in-law, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Wook was predeceased by brothers: Edward and Kenneth; sisters: Gertie Mae, Muriel, Ada and Dorothy, father and mother in-law George and Ruby Jarvis.
The Crawford family would like to thank the ER staff at the Cobequid Medical Center and all the doctors and nurses of the MSICU 3.A of the Victoria General Hospital, and Deacon Eric Murphy for all his special visits.
Arrangements have been entrusted to J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., Halifax. Visitations will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 from 7-9 pm at Beechville Baptist Church where there will be a Men’s Brotherhood Service. Funeral will be Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 1 pm. Donations can be made in Wook’s honor to the Beechville Baptist Church Building Fund.
