Obituary of Snider Boudreau
Alexander Angus “Snider” Boudreau, 84, Spryfield, NS, passed away surrounded by his loving family on July 9, 2021 at the Halifax Infirmary, QEII, NS. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Alfred and Agnes (Munroe) Boudreau. In 1954, he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force, where he dedicated his life until 1958. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force softball team, and in 1955-1956, won the championships, earning the team the title of Softball Team Champs. Snider was a cab driver for 22 years, and had also worked with City Fields. He was a true character, always teasing those he loved. He had an incredible sense of humour and was very quick with the one liners. Snider was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Spryfield Branch. His family was very important to him and he loved them dearly. Snider is survived by his daughters, Katherine “Kathy” Boudreau and Carolyn Boudreau, a son, Roderick “Roddy” Boudreau, 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, his brother, Kenny Boudreau, and a sister, Annie Roberts. He was predeceased by the love of his life of 49 years, June (McPhee) in 2008, his daughter, Debbie Gero, as well as a brother, Jimmy and sisters, Lillian Battiste, Florence Glendenning, Gladys Bourque, and Eileen Dean.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Snider’s life will be held by invitation only due to COVID restrictions. There will be another special gathering in memory of Snider at a later date once restrictions have been lifted for all to attend. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in memory of Snider to the Royal Canadian Legion, Spryfield Branch.
