Allan was a dear friend, always with a friendly smile and a pleasant outlook on life. I volunteered with Allan at the Infirmary and looked forward to his friendship and brilliant sense of humour, never knowing what zany comment was about to be launched from his lips next. I will cherish those memories forever. He will be missed.

My heart aches for the loss of this great man. He volunteered with us at the QEII for many years, both before and after his most recent time in Ottawa, and kept us in stitches the entire time. I miss my hugs to start the day. Rest in peace buddy- you deserve it. My heartfelt condolences to all who loved him.

I am very sorry to hear about Allan passing. He was a volunteer at the Halifax Infirmary Hospital and he had the best since of humor. He really help me out at the desk on level 4 and I will never forget him.

Registration Kiosk Girls posted a condolence

Sadden by his passing, the Registration girls at the Halifax Infirmary loved Allan. He was such a great help to us as a volunteer and was wonderful with the patients. He came in everyday with his huge smile and he always made us giggle. Even though his volunteer work stopped when he became ill, we always looked forward to seeing him when he came in for his visits to the hospital. He will be missed greatly.
