Obituary of William Brophy

Age 90, Lower Prospect, passed away peacefully at home March 7, 2021 surrounded by his family. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late William and Catherine (Ryan) Brophy.

Bill loved parties, his beer and people, especially kids. He survived by daughters, Paula Brophy and Cindy Slaunwhite (Victor); grandson, Chad Slaunwhite (Holly); great grandson, Mason Slaunwhite; sisters, Margaret “Babe” Blackburn, Mary Hill (Ray) and Janet Slaunwhite (Reg) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Jean (Blackburn); sisters, Dorothy “Choook” Knight and Lila “Lick” Rudda.

Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. Service and interment will take place at a later date.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Crooks, home care worker, Cindy Taylor and the VON Nurses for their care and compassion given to William.
