Obituary of Edith Margaret Morgan
95, Timberlea, passed away peacefully in Northwood Care on June 22, 2016. Born St. Lawrence, Newfoundland on February 28, 1921, Edith (Marg) was a daughter of the late William and Margaret (Reeves) Parsons.
Marg recounts that she listened to the radio broadcasts of hockey games and Bill (her husband to be) was noted as a star of the team. His beautiful wife Marg caught Bill's heart while she was working as a sales lady at a local downtown business in St. John’s. They married after 8 months. The wedding was on New Year's Day, first of January 1942 in St. Mary's the Virgin, Church of England, St. John's, Newfoundland. Bill was 25 and Marg was 20. They were inseparable from that day forward - 68 years. She was predeceased by her husband Frederick (Bill) William Godden Morgan on April 13, 2010.
She is survived by her three children; daughter Bertha Ruth (Malcolm) of Calgary; son Frederick William (Peggy) of Calgary, and son Trevor George (Sharon) of Hammond's Plains. She is survived by grandchildren Angela, Shannon, Allan, Ashley and Adrian and three great grandchildren, Samuel, Riley and Sophia.
She was predeceased by brothers William (Billy) and George; sisters Cora, Ruth and Vera. The celebration of mom's life will be held at St. Andrews Anglican Church, Timberlea, N.S. at 3:00pmSunday August 21, 2016. In lieu of flowers, donations in may be made to Alzheimer's Society.
