I am deeply sorry for your loss, I know the heartache of losing a loved one. Soon the God of Comfort will bring an end to death and wipe away the tears from all faces, for this has been promised at Isaiah 25:8. Stan was a friend, but also carried a deep parental trait in his relationship with me. I was one of many people who Stan introduced to Nova Scotia, but moreover, he introduced me to the sprawling beauty of the sea. I was "hooked". One fond memory was being in deep water off Peggy's Cove. The surf was rolling, and I was about to fall off the boat. Stan laughed as he grabbed my arm. Of course, it wasn't funny for me. Stan, Jason and Chris were all at my wedding in New York. Yes, he did like to take a drive. He was eccentric, jovial and warm, all at the same time. He embodied the spirit of life with wit and conviction to an extreme, and as soon as he stepped above it all, he jumped right back in only to find more trouble. That was his nature, that's what I loved about him.
