Obituary of Gertrude Mary Smith

Age 91, Halifax, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at home June 15, 2020. Born in Cleveland, Cape Breton, she was a daughter of the late Hiram Malcolm and Mary Violet (LeLachure).

She is survived by her children, Debbie, Steve (Phyllis). Susie, Laura (Peter), Cindy (Topper), Ann Marie, Carolyn; daughter-in-law, Phyllis; grandchildren, Steve (Claire), Gord (Kate), Lisa (Brent), Derek (Nancy), Amanda (Chris), Holly, Jaclyn, Andrew, Victoria (Aaron) and Nick (Emily); great grandchildren, Landon, Kenzie, Carson, Nadia, Haylee, Harper, Scarlet, Kenyon, Aviana, Liam, Cierra and Brian. She was predeceased by her husband, Gordon Freeman and her oldest son Clarence.

Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. No visitation or service. Interment to take place at Fort Massey Cemetery Halifax.

A sincere thank you to all caregivers, doctors and VON’s that assisted us and gave Mom superb care. Special thanks to Lorraine and Tammy.
