My Very Good Friend
I just learned that I lost a very good friend. Judy and family; it's been a long time since I've seen you. I do apologize for not returning and seeing Warren and you more often. I have so many beautiful memories of Warren from my early days as a Fusilier and his mentoring of young NCOs. Me being one of them. His mentoring allowed me to do so well in my life as a soldier and a technician. Then there were the times where he took a city boy hunting. One early morning he dropped a dry friend off to check out an area (con'd on second page)
My Very Good Friend
(con'd) He started to laugh at a soaked empty handed friend ready to be picked up. A few empties went down that afternoon. It was always a pleasure to go with him to Lttle Dover to "Fish" and see Tom and his family as well as the rest of the relatives there. Just after the movie Jaws was released, I remember we were jigging for cod with Ernie and I was hauling in a line that just started to take off. When Ernie told me I had a shark on the line; I just let everything go. I could not live down the laughter all week. (con't)
My Very Good Friend
(con't) Dancing at the community hall we'll just laugh. The best memory that stands out is when I asked him to be my best man and he accepted. Over the years when I was sitting around a fire, sitting in a boat or around the kitchen table having a beer, I'd think of the friends that I've made and Warren was one of the best. Judy, I doubt I can make the visitations or the service. Please let me know when you are having the internment. I'll see you soon. Sorry for being long winded but I have so many good memories.
