Mary and all the family. I can't tell you how sorry I am to hear of Ray's passing. It's strange calling you "Mary" and "Ray" after all the years of you both being Mr. and Mrs Wilkie as we grew up. Your mention in his obituary of him being a "tease" is a mild understatement. He was very much a tease and always good to make you laugh. Even when I saw you last at Mom's committal service in 2015 he made me laugh. "Mr. Wilkie" (oh that feels better) even teased me then. He was such a kind-hearted man and as our leader in Boy Scouts was such an inspiration to us all. Please take comfort in the knowledge that he was so well respected and loved by many. I can't thank your family enough for letting him be such a big part of our family's lives. My sincere condolences and prayers are with you. Brian Richey Paradise, NL

Echoing my sister Adele, I to, recall Christmas at the Wilkie's. We had many adventures together as children wandering Punch bowl Drive and the frozen pond. In the pressures of school and peers the Wilkies were always a refuge for me. In my early learning and carreer as an electrician, Raymond was a mentor to me and even taught me outside of the class room. He has been essential to my knowledge as a Foreman electrician. My deepest condolences to the family as our two families grieve together with loss. I will not forget his impact on me.

So sorry for your loss. Your family and ours grew up together on Punch Bowl -- the parents were friends as well as the children, often going camping together as shown in the picture. Your six kids and our eight was always a fun time. I also remember our family going to your home at Christmastime for games and carolling. Mr. Wilkie was part of our childhood and I know he will be dearly missed by all of you. With sincere sympathy, Adele Webster
