Obituary of Maryanne Florence Stowe

 Age 97 of Timberlea formally of Spryfield, passed away peacefully May 15, 2019 at the V.G QEll Palliative Care Unit surrounded by loving family by her side. Born in Ferryland, Newfoundland she was a daughter of the late Michael and Philomenia O’Brien. Florence was a very kind and giving person, she loved to quilt and knit socks and mittens for family and friends.  She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.  She is survived by her son, Robert (Marion Ritchie); daughter, Sylvia (Bill) Power; grandson, Michael (Sarah); great grandson, Christopher Power; brother, William O’Brien, Halifax; sister, Annie Jordan, Ferryland, Newfoundland.  She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Stowe; brothers, Jack, Pat, Leo and Jim; sisters, Gertie and Mary all from Newfoundland.  Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd, 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax.  In keeping with Florence’s wishes there will be no visitation.  A funeral service will be held in the Chapel Tuesday May 21, 2019 at 11:30 am with a reception is to follow.  Burial will take place at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville.  The family wishes to thank her special girls at Closing the Gap and to all the staff on 6B and 7A at the V.G. Hospital.
