I am deeply sorry for your loss, I know the heartache of losing a loved one. Soon the God of Comfort will bring an end to death and wipe away the tears from all faces, for this has been promised at Isaiah 25:8. We can also look forward to the marvelous hope brought out at Acts 24:15 There we see that those we lost in death will be brought back to life here on earth. I do hope you find comfort in this as I have. Mythoughts are with you
Sincerely, Janet

Barry and Lynn...I never thought I would have to write this...a memory of the first "boy" I met in the Cove. I was sitting out onmy Aunts steps and Timmy was33 walking down Village Rd. He looked up and yelled a big Hi! He was 12 and we have been friends ever since.I will miss seeing him and getting a hug and I hope he is finally at peace.xx

I wish to extend my sympathy to Timmy's family.I was very shocked and sad to see Timmy's obituary in the paper this week.We went to elementary school together and I always found Timmy so happy go-lucky -and smiling, always nice to everyone. When I turned 13,I had a party which was a big deal.To my surprize Timmy was outside the window playing his Ukulele and brought me a little necklace wrapped up so nicely. We would run to each other on the way to school,on the buses or large gatherings of teenagers at someone's house or the field.Several years ago I went to a party at John Spearn's house on the Village Road, musicians there of course. We had a nice chat and it was just like going back in time.Timmy looked so young, hadn't changed and still the same happy disposition.Always a twinkle in his eye.I used to think he'd make a good "Beatle" with his long dark hair playing guitar.
One year ago I lost my younger brother Anthony(Tony) suddenly as well so understand your great lossof losing your brother.I will think of Timmy with happy memories.Sincerely,Val McGlone

Lynn, Barry and family, we were so saddened to hear of Timmy's passing. I have many good memories of Timmy through the years and of all the laughter and shenanigans at family gatherings as well as being on the water in our boats in the Cove; me in the rowboat my father had made me and Timmy in the sailboat his father had made him. As an older cousin, he would often look out for me, herding me back into the Cove if I had ventured too far in my little rowboat, but he would also terrify me with some of his prank phone calls while I was babysitting his nephews, living up to his nickname, "Timmy the Terror", even though his pranks were all in fun. It is true that he was a Jack of all trades. There didn't seem to be anything that he didn't know how to do or fix or figure out and he would always be willing to help you in any way he could. He will never be forgotten.
With much love,
Helen and Hunter Shaw

Where do you start when you hear news like this? From the days of Timmy The Terror, racing the roads and the neighborhoods looking for adventure to pass the summer days to days where the guitar sounds blasted from the garage and he grew his hair as long as Aunt Sophie would allow; which by any day's standards was pretty long and the many summers of shore parties or at Crystal Crescent Beach or up the Fisherman's Club. The late night ventures to The Middle Deck to hear jazz and blues. The years in the bands as lead guitarist, the many cigarettes smoked and glasses of the Captain consumed.
And all of this was but a small part of who Tim Brackett really was and he was many things to many people as evidenced by those who knew him and recorded their thoughts here. Those who laughed at his jokes, listened to his riffs or had taken part in any of the escapades he was part of over the past five plus decades; know he was a one of a kind man who during the course of his life, cherished his family, friends, his mother's beef stroganoff, his guitar(s) good conversation and plentiful drink. He also had his challenges in life as we all do and as we are all unique, Tim's kind will not come again. And when I meet up with other childhood friends from Herring Cove, a glass will be raised and a toast offered to the memory of a great friend, Timothy F. Brackett.

When i think of Timmy, i remember him as good friend and a mentor, as someone that stood out in the crowd in all the ways that really count. Always ready to help anyone in any way that he could. The countless boat trips and adventures that we had years ago are something that had he not been there, would not have been the same at all. I count myself as lucky to have known him. The countless hours that he spent teaching me the chords and scales on guitar (in the Garage) were an example of the dedication he had to the instrument, and his commitment to share his talent with others.I will miss his quick wit and good natured ribbing that he was exceeding good at.
Rest In Peace My good friend

To the Brackett family. It is with great sorrow that I read of Tim's passing in the Chronicle Herald this morning.I was fortunate to have played music with Tim and his older brother Barry, many decades ago in a band.None of us have kept in touch over the years that ensued, and that is too bad.In spite of the lack of keeping in touch, I will miss him, for he was a great friend to me, and and a fine musician.Barry, if you read this, you can reach me by email or phone. We live in Shelburne N.S.
