Obituary of Ross Richardson
It is with great sadness that the family announces, Ross Robert Richardson passed away at home surrounded by his family on April 2, 2019. Born in West Dover, he was a son of the late Arnold and June (Cleveland) Richardson.
Ross spent his entire life in West Dover, it is where he met and married the love of his life Cora. Ross was a hard-working man, and would lend a helping hand whenever he could. He spent most of his life working in the fishing industry alongside his father. He later passed on his knowledge, wisdom and passion for fishing to his son Perry or as he would commonly call him, Gousey. Together they spent many years fishing alongside each other. It was only when his wife Cora took ill, that Ross had to give up his passion. Cora was his life. He took his vows seriously, helping Cora through sickness. He didn’t hesitate to drive her back and forth to her dialysis appointments, and even assisted with regular household work. He was there with her every step of the way doing whatever he could for her. Through it all, he displayed courage, and strength. Ross had a big heart and did all he could for those he cared deeply about. Ross lived a humble life, he was someone who was and still is greatly respected. His presence in the community, or loss hereof will be greatly felt by all. Ross is survived by son, Perry (Greta Rainforth), West Dover, daughter, Kimberley Sanford (Brent) Gibsons, BC; grandchildren, Kelsey and Kyle Richardson and Alexandria Sanford, along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Cora (Allen) and several siblings, being the last member of his immediate family.
Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd where a celebration of his life will be held Saturday, April 13 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. A private family interment will take place at a later date. Donations in memory, may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Diabetes Canada.
