Obituary of Loena Lawrence

95, Bedford, passed away peacefully at home on December 24, 2018, with Family and friends by her side. She was a wife of the late Clarence Rodgers (2^nd husband), and the late John William “Jack” Lawrence (1st husband). She was born in Garnish, Newfoundland on August 1, 1923, to the late Morgan and Margaret Grandy.

Loena was a woman who loved cooking and baking for her friends and family. She was loved by all who met her. Her family was what mattered most to her. After the death of her first husband Jack Lawrence in 1976 she lived by herself for many years and learned to drive and was a very strong independent woman. She loved going to the dances and meeting people.

She is survived by, son, John Lawrence (Lorraine); daughters, Sheila Lawrence, Sharon Goyetche (Glenn); grandchildren, Kenda Probert, Stephen Probert, Mark Goyetche, Bradley Goyetche, Corey Lawrence, Tyler Lawrence; nine great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter.

She was predeceased by, sisters, Francis Hatch, Olive Poole, Ester Newport, Lara Grandy, Jenny Dobbin; brothers, Charles Grandy; grandson Troy Probert.

She was loved by all and will be greatly missed but never forgotten. A Special Thanks to the Red Cross Q nurses who were there in our time of need. Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, where Visitation will take place on Friday December 28, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a Service of remembrance to follow in the funeral home chapel at 12 p.m. Burial will take place at Fairview Lawn Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke foundation in Loena’s memory.
