Obituary of Mildred Althea Clark
71, Halifax. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mildred on Tuesday, June 5, 2018. Born on July 13, 1946 and raised in Kline Heights, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Mildred (Cox) Keating.
Anyone who knew Mildred quickly learned that she loved to cook, bake and feed people. Her other loves were camping, mayflowers, Angels, her dogs Buddy and Bear, singing and dancing. But her most loved thing was her cottage on Lake Charlotte and the memories she and Roy made there. Mildred was a stay at home mother for many years where she babysat, baked, volunteered at schools and gardened. Later she worked at Oland’s Brewery and the Met. She was an active member of St. Michael’s Church as a Eucharistic Minister, took communion to the sick, a religion teacher, CWL member, RCIA sponsor and a dedicated Carmelite.
She was the mother of Calvin and Carol (Kelvin) Scallion and grandmother to Kelly, Emily and Lindsay Scallion. She is also survived by brothers; Bobby (Colleen) and David (Cathy) Keating and sisters; Susan (Doug) Langille and Judy Keating. She will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and God children. She was predeceased by her husband, Roy Clark who was her one and only soulmate for 25 years; sisters, Alberta Langille and Ruby Slaunwhite; 2 brothers in infancy.
Special thanks to all the staff on the 3rd floor of Arborstone Enhanced Care, especially nurse Tammy for taking such great care of her, treating her with loving patience, dignity and respect.
