Obituary of M. Lillian Coombs

97, Spryfield. It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of our Mother and Grandmother, Lillian at the Halifax Infirmary QEII on August 2, 2017. Born in Terrenceville, Newfoundland on July 12, 1920, she was a daughter of the late John and Bridget (Rideout) Myles. She is survived by her children, Mike (Jan), Mary Alice, both of Spryfield, Kathleen Bryden (Kevin), Middle Cornwall and Theresa (Glenn Pearce), Williamswood; grandchildren, Tammy, Cory, Christopher (Lisa), Ashley (Robert); great grandchildren, Blake, Caleb and Carter. She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Michael Stanley Coombs; grandson, Michael Thomas Coombs. The family wishes to thank Dr. Hadley and the nursing staff on 8.4 of the QEII for all of the care and compassion shown. Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, where visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 8 from 6-8 PM. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 9 at 10:30 AM at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church. Private family interment will follow the service at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the QEII Foundation.
