Obituary of Minnie M. "Mickey" Algee
Age 90, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 14, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Cheverie, Hants County, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Edna Harvey.
Some of Minnie’s favorite things in life were family gatherings, her garden, cooking, crafts such as knitting, needlepoint, berry picking and long walks with her beloved friend, Mary Pelham. She was an avid Toronto Blue Jays fan and cheered them every opportunity she had. She loved her family dearly and will be remembered as a great wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Minnie will be missed by her sons, Boyd (Cathy), Warren (Christine); daughters, Lauretta Gray, Greta Hanlon (Ron); son in law, Wayne Hollett. She will forever be a treasured grandmother to Ronnie, Karen-Ann, Beth, Jennifer, Trevor, David, Lynette, Michael, Leo, Katie, Madeline and Sean; great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Tyler, Megan, Anthoney, Jeremy, Maddie, Kingsley and Cassius; brothers, Raymond, David and Alan Harvey; several nieces and nephews; dearest friend, Shirley Pennell. She was predeceased by her husband, Ronald; daughter, Mary Ann Hollett; son in law, Lloyd Gray; sisters, Mary Buell and Jean Parker; brother, Arthur.

Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax. In keeping with Minnie’s wishes there will be no visitation. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, May 20 at 11 AM from the funeral home chapel; reception to follow. Interment will take place in Ferguson’s Cove. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MS Society or the Lung Association.
