Obituary of Jean Claude "JC" Essiembre
Age 50, Halifax. JC passed away peacefully at Arborstone Enhanced Care on May 2, 2017. He was an incredibly active man who was a great athlete, loved sports of all kinds, and especially loved biking, running, hiking and being outdoors. JC served in the Canadian Navy from 1990-1993 and was a proud recipient of the Commandant’s Shield Award as the top basic training recruit in 1990. He was also an Air Cadet and Cadet Instructor Cadre Officer and enjoyed many years at the Air Cadet Training Centre in CFB Greenwood and in 1989 became its Parade Officer. JC was most proud of his graduation from Acadia University having received a Bachler’s in Recreation Management in 1996. JC is survived by his loving mother, Virginia Bernatchez; his brother, Mark; and his father, Marcial Essiembre. JC’s family also included many cousins, aunts and uncles.
JC will be forever remembered by his Horsemen brothers, Martin, Scott, Derek, Andrew, Mike, Bob, and Patrick.
Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., A Christian Burial Mass will be at St. John the Baptist Church 26 Purcell’s Cove Rd Halifax at 10 a.m. on Friday May 5, 2017. A private family interment will take place at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville and a reception will take place at the Sackville Legion, 45 Sackville Cross Rd, Lower Sackville from 12– 2 pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the MS Society of Canada.
The family and his friends are greatly appreciative of the care shown to JC during his stay and extend a special thanks to the staff at Arborstone Enhanced Care.
