Obituary of John M. Fredericks

John passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the QEII Halifax Infirmary. Born in Halifax, John was a son of the late Calvin and Bessie Fredericks.  John lived in Halifax all of his life and was a long-time employee for 25 years in the House Keeping Department at the IWK, Grace Hospital where he was very fortunate to develop long, lasting relationships with very special co-workers and Management.  John was an avid wrestling fan and loved laughing and socializing with friends.  John and his girlfriend, Susanne, enjoyed renting cabins in the summer time and spending time shopping for great food on the weekends.  He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. John is survived by his girlfriend of 18 years, Susanne; sister, Gweneth; brothers, Jimmy (Cathy), Harold and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank everyone for their kindness and support.  Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, where visitation will be held on Monday, April 24, from 6-7 pm, followed by a Service of Remembrance at 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society.
