Obituary of Ella M. "Alice" Whitehouse

Whitehouse, Ella Marie "Alice":  85, Halifax, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Arborstone Enhanced Care, Halifax, NS.  Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Amos and Paula (Slaunwhite) Jollimore. Throughout her life, Alice dedicated herself to always putting others first and will fondly be remembered by all who knew her for having such a big heart.  She is survived by her chosen family, Judy Slaunwhite (George), god-daughter, Amanda Peters (Chris), and her favorite little ducky, Sawyer Peters, all of Hatchet Lake, NS.  She was predeceased by her husband, James "Harry" Whitehouse, and brother, Neil Jollimore.  A very special thankyou to everyone on the 2nd Floor of Arborstone Enhanced Care for all the wonderful years of care and for looking after "Mama Alice".   Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, NS, where visitation will be held on Thursday from 6-8 PM.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 11AM from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Shad Bay, NS.  Interment will take place at Our Lady Star of the Sea Cemetery, Terence Bay, NS, at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Alice may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.  Words of comfort may be sent to the family by visiting www.walkerfh.com
