Obituary of Helen Marion Garrison (Murray)

Age 97, Halifax, passed away peacefully October 21, 2016 at the Abbey J. Lane Memorial, QEII. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Arthur Vincent "Chummie" and Mary "Mae" Elizabeth (MacQuarrie) Murray. Helen became a war widow at the early age of 21. She enjoyed reading and doing crosswords. She is survived by son, Murray Garrison; daughter, Lea Garrison; step son, Eric Garrison; step daughter, Joanne Letts; grandchildren, Samantha, Aonghus and Owen and three nieces and one nephew. She was predeceased by her husbands, Otto John "Pete" Peterson, RCAF Officer #1 Squadron and William Lloyd Garrison; brother, William "Bill" Murray; sister, Evelyn Mullane; step daughter Elaine. Arrangements are under the care of J, Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. As per Helen’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A celebration of life will be held Monday November 7 at 1p.m. from the St. Peter’s Anglican Church Hackett’s Cove, Rev. Andrew Cooke officiating. Interment to take place in St. Peter’s Anglican Cemetery.
