Obituary of Jean R. Dockrell

Dockrell, Jean Rosetta: 83, Halifax, Passed away peacefully on Friday, September 9, 2016 at Camphill Veteran’s Memorial Hospital, Halifax, NS. Jean was born in London, England on August 18, 1933. At the age of 24, Jean moved to Canada, where she lived in Toronto, later moving to Halifax. Halifax became home to her, where she met her loving husband, James W. Dockrell and started a family. Always having England in her heart, Jean will be remembered by those who knew and loved her as an artistic and enthusiastic soul who lived her life in a very active way. She was a good lady who lived a good life. For many years, Jean had been a phone operator for the hospital. She is survived by her daughter, Susan MacLeod, Halifax, her son, Stephen Dockrell (Jackie), Cold Lake, AB, one brother, Alan (Pam), England, a granddaughter, Jessica MacLeod, a grandson, Corey MacLeod, many cousins, nieces, and nephews, both in Canada and England. She was predeceased by her husband and parents, and five siblings, James (Jim), Ted, Maureen, Rosemary, and Tom. By request, cremation has taken place under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, (902.477.5601). There will be no visitation or funeral service.
