Obituary of Hilda Stevens (Loppie)

Age 95, of Halifax, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Northwood Centre with her daughters at her side.  Born in Greenville, Yarmouth County, NS, she is the last surviving member of her immediate family.  Hilda survived by daughters Diane Hill and Loretta (Andy) Webster,  Grandchildren Owen, Doreen, Marcel (Stephanie) and Constance, Great Grandchildren Leshawn, Gabriel, Mateo, Natalia and Makenna, several Nieces and Nephews, sister Alice Jefferies and brother Billy Falls. Hilda was a past member of Beechville Baptist Church Ladies Auxiliary, she enjoyed Bowling, Bingo, Playing Card Games, knitting, cooking and baking and was well known for her apple pies.  Hilda enjoyed her family and always enjoyed their visits.  She will be deeply missed by all.  Hilda was predeceased by husband Frank Loppie, daughter Margaret, grandson Otis, parents George and Margaret (Johnson) Jarvis, sisters Myrtle, Daisy, Connie, Alphie and Marina, brothers Cecil, Perely, Percy, Charlie, George, Harold, Clarence and Earl.  Many thanks to Deacon Eric Murphy for his many visits and prayers and the Staff of Northwood 7 Centre for all their care as well all those who helped keep mom comfortable.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, NS where a visitation will take place Sunday July 31 2016 from 4pm-8pm with a ladies service being held from 7pm-8pm. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at 1:00pm from Beechville Baptist Church.  Pastor Lloyd Grant Officiating.  Internment in Beechville Baptist Church Cemetery.  Donations may be made to the Alzhiemer’s Association.
