Obituary of Hawley Eugene Sr. Borden

Passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday May 4, 2016 at QEII Halifax Infirmary. He was the only child of the late Pearl and Lyle Borden. Hawley was born on March 25, 1930 in New Glagow, Pictou County. He was a Steeplejack for 20 years in Montreal and was a boxer in New Glasgow, trained by Sparky.  He was the loving father of Devina’s children Pearl, Ida, Hawley Jr. of Toronto; Alice’s children James, Kennith, Dean and twins Hawley and Lynn of Montreal. Hawley is also survived by his grandchildren Jason, Kortnee, Joshua, Quinton and great granddaughter Sarina. He was predeceased by his mother Pearl Borden; Father Lyle Borden and Wife Devina Borden. He will be greatly missed by his special friends Darline Jefferies, Hugh Sutherland and Chester Downey. A Legion service will be held by the Spryfield Legion on Wednesday May 11 at 11am from the J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. Chapel, 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax.
