Obituary of Paul Alan Holder
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Paul Alan Holder, 56 of Timberlea, on Friday March 25, 2016 at his home in Timberlea. Paul was born in Halifax and a long time resident of Timberlea.
He worked at Loblaws warehouse for many years where he had many roles and met his dear friend John Sheehan. Growing up Paul loved to spend his summers in Yarmouth with family. Paul was a staple at the Greenwood Heights baseball field. He was a coach, umpire, player, caretaker and above all else, a fan. He could always be found cheering on his two sons, Anthony and Raymond in everything they did. A member of the MBS club, Paul was dedicated to his community and participated in many events. His jokes could always be heard during Friday night poker games at the Lakeside Legion or Sunday afternoon cards with the boys. Paul was a die hard sports fan, who never missed a Bruins, Dolphins or Yankees game.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Joy Holder (Brown); his sons, Anthony and Raymond; mother, Rose Holder (Muise); sister-in-laws, Loretta Chase (Bill), Pauline Kendall (Les); brothers-in-law, Rob Brown (Lynne), Bruce Brown, Sam Bonin; several aunts and uncles and his companions Duke and Glen. Paul was predeceased by his father Thomas Holder, brother Raymond, sister Dale Bonin (Holder), maternal grandparents Mary Jane Muise (Doucette) and Julien Muise, paternal grandparents Gladys Holder (Warnell) and John Holder, stepmother Hilda Levy.
Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. 149 Herring Cove Rd., where visitation wll be held Friday April 1 from 6-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday April 2 at 11 a.m. from St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, St. Michael’s Ave. Private family interment to take place in Gate Of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville.
