Obituary of Sybil Carter

Age 84 of Halifax, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 5, 2016 at the QEII Health Sciences Centre surrounded by her loving family. Sybil was the only child of the late John and Gertrude (Reid) Hollett of Halifax. Much loved by family, extended family and her many friends. Sybil enjoyed a full and active life, a lifelong member of the Waegwoltic Club, Recreational Badminton Club, Monarchist League, Seniors Bible Study Group, and an avid Toronto Blue Jays fan.  She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Austin Carter; daughter Anne (Gary) Doggett; grandchildren Jennifer (Tom) Griffiths, Halifax; Robert (Siobhan) Worrell, Calgary; step-grandson Brett Doggett, Halifax; and great-grandchildren, Brody Allen, Springhill; Ella and Carter Griffiths, Halifax; God children Traci, Angela, Robert and Mark. Arrangements are under the care of J.Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. A service to celebrate Sybil's life will be held at First Congregational Church, 1871 Seldon St., Halifax at 11 am Friday, March 11th, with reception to follow.
