Obituary of Mildred Genevieve Grant (Gallant)

Age 89, Halifax, formerly of Moncton, NB. went to heaven on February 25, 2016 surrounded by love. Genet was one of nine children born to the late Harmony and Adele (Perry) Gallant. Genet is survived by children, Lynn (Paul Mombouquette) and Scott; sisters Lillian and Elaine; brother Mike (Catherine); many nieces, nephews and good friends. Genet’s greatest joy were her seven grandchildren, whom she adored, Nick (Trisha DeLorey), Dylan, Hannah, Chris (Jillian Vaughn), Corey, Stephen and Sarah. We were blessed to have Nana here as she welcomed her two precious great grandchildren, Hunter (11 months) and Penelope "Princess P" (2 ½ months). She was predeceased in 2013 by her loving husband of 56 years, Ellis Alexander; siblings, Clarence, Alonzo, Melvin, Lennie and Leo. A loving and devoted wife, mother, sister and Nana, we will all miss you, your smile, laughter and unconditional love. Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. where a service of remembrance will be held Sunday March 6 at 1 p.m., with a reception to follow. Donations in memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society, Canadian Diabetes Association or the Canadian Lung Association. Interment at a later date. Thanks to the Red Cross Home Support, Oceanview Manor and special thanks to all the staff of Arborstone Enhanced Care, especially 4th floor for your love, compassion and respect you gave to Mom/Nana.
