Obituary of Joan Mary (Cormier) Paton
68, Scotch Village, formerly of Spryfield, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 8, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Rene and Odina (Forest) Cormier.
She will lovingly be remembered and never forgotten by her daughter, Leanne (Lawrence) Lake; grandchildren, Jessica (Adam) Brown, Jonathan and Anthony Weagle, all of Scotch Village; beloved great grandson, Tristan Brown; brothers, Jacques "Jock" (Marilyn), New Glasgow and Eric (Joan Stevenson) Cormier, Halifax; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by special friend, David Corbin; sister, Bertha McNeil, Lucille Eveline and Eugenie Lucille ; brothers, Donald and Edmond.

In keeping with Joan’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A service of remembrance will be held on Friday, January 15 at 11 AM in St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, Spryfield, followed by a reception in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joan’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to Joan’s immediate family.
