Obituary of Cyril Roy Garrison

Age 89, of Sambro, passed away October 5, 2015 at Melville Lodge. Born in Sambro on February 6, 1926, Cyril was a son of the late Simon and Mabel (Gray) Garrison. He was a lifelong fisherman and upon retirement his passion became his vegetable garden.  Cyril is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Verna (Miller) Garrison; his special dog, Annie; daughter, Barb (Gus) Reyno, Sambro, NS and Greta (Chris) Vanderzee, Red Deer, Alberta; sons, Darrell (Aronda) Garrison, Sambro, NS and Owen (Heather) Garrison, Lower Sackville, NS; sisters, Marjorie Schnare and Lila Gray, Sambro, NS; grandchildren, Ryan (Jenny), Tracy, Darcy (Tara Lee), Krista, Brent, Evan, Cara, Joey, Jaimie; great grandchildren, Brandon, Kayleigh, Zachary and Sam. He was predeceased by brothers, Otto, Rexie and Murray. A very special thank you to his caregivers at home, Patsy MacDonald and Liz Harvey and his caregivers at Melville Lodge who all come to love his witty personality.   Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd, Halifax. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 13 from St. James United Church, Sambro NS at 2pm. Rev. Keltie Van Binsbergen officiating. Reception to follow in the Church hall. Burial to take place at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to The Alzheimer’s Society of Canada or The St. James United Church Fund.
