Obituary of Anna "Ann" Halverson
Halverson, Anna "Ann": 92, Falmouth, NS, formerly of Spryfield, NS, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Monday, June 29, 2015 at the Windsor Elms, Falmouth, NS. Born in Springhill, NS on November 10, 1922, she was the only daughter of the late Joseph and Caroline (Hoffman) Kavalak. Throughout her life, Ann was a member of the Topaz Rebekah Lodge #125. She was a member of St. Paul’s UnitedChurch, Spryfield, where she served on the UCW. She is survived by two sons, Dennis (Martha), West Chezzetcook, NS, and Terry (Valetta), Moncton, NB, her grandchildren, Edward (Jennifer), Steven (Susan), Kelly (Cam). Kerri-Ann, Ryan and Craig, her 7 great-grandchildren, Dylan, Amber, Michael, Vivian, Sidney, Preston and Emily, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Ervin Halverson in 1983, and her brothers, Joseph "Pepe", John , and Ed. The family wishes to extend special thanks to all the nurses and doctors of the Windsor Elms, especially Debbie Aker, for all the support and help.
Arrangements are under the care of J. A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax (902.477.5601), where visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A Topaz Rebekah Lodge #125 service will be held on Wednesday at 6PM at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at 2PM from St. Paul’s UnitedChurch, Spryfield, with Rev. Catherine MacDonald officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall. Interment will take place in HillsideCemetery, Springhill, NS on Friday, July 3, 2015 at 11 AM.
