Obituary of William "Billy" Hatch
HATCH WILLIAM CHARLES "Billy": 75, Portuguese Cove, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family April 5, 2015 at the QEII Health Sciences Centre. Born in Halifax on October 11, 1939, he was the son of the late William George and Bertha (Brophy). Retired due to an injury at the Halifax Grain Elevator, he loved hunting in Rawdon and loved his grandchildren more than words can say. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Margaret (Nicholl), and sons, Blaine (Carol) and Barry (Angela), brothers, Eddy (Sylvia) and Maurice (Mona), and sisters, Helena Harding and Nina (Stephen) Iceton, as well as grandchildren, Kathleen, Bradley, and Logan, and many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to all the nurses and doctors of 8.2 at the QE II Hospital.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, NS (477.5601), where visitation will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A service in memory of William will be celebrated on Friday, April 10, 2015 at 1 PM in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Catherine MacDonald as officiating clergy.
