Obituary of Kenneth J. Sullivan
Age 76, a lifetime resident of Kline Heights, Halifax, passed away peacefully at the QEII surrounded by family on March 09, 2015. Ken was a son of the late Thomas Sullivan, and Josephine (Fraser) Thacker, "Dodi". He is survived by his loving wife Anne; son Paul, (Judy); daughter Colleen (Shawn); his very precious grandchildren, Kenneth, Jake and Lauren; great grandchild Zoey; many loved nieces, nephews; siblings Gary (Elaine), Betty (Dave), David (Beth), Steve; step sister's Gail, Sherry; stepbrother Garnet and many friends.
A special thank you to Fraser Beazley for all your visits and friendship. Ken is predeceased by sister Lorraine (Beazley). Ken served proudly as a Halifax fire fighter from January 1969 till retirement from C Platoon July 1994. He is often remembered by family and friends for his talented singing and guitar playing, which amazed everyone. One of Ken's favorite memories and ours is when he performed with Pam Tillis at the Grand Palace in Branson, MO. He loved all aspects of outdoor life, fishing hunting and would spend hours walking in the forest marveling with the scenery. He enjoyed photography, which captured his favorite moments and memories.
Cremation has taken place under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd, 149 Herring Cove Rd. Halifax, where a visitation will take place on Sunday March 15 from 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be Monday March 16 at 1:00 pm from the funeral home chapel. Reception to follow. A private family burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ken's name to the Heart and Stroke foundation, or a charity of your choice. A special thank you to Dr. Trager and Haley and Lisa at QEII IMCU department.
