Obituary of Glenda J. Hayden

Age 74, of Halifax, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2015 at Melville Lodge Nursing home, surrounded by her loving family. Born July 10, 1940 she was a daughter of the late Frank and Alice Farrell (Kirby). Glenda is survived by her husband of 52 years, Wade Hayden; sons Harvey (Susan) and Michael (Phyllis McCarthy); grandchildren Adam, Evan, Erika, Nicole, Christopher, Matthew and Hayden, whom she loved dearly; sisters, Sandra (Stan) Lacey, and Doreen (Bob); brothers, Brian (Erma) and Harvey (Donna) as well as many nieces and nephews that she loved very much. She was predeceased by her daughter Wanda.  Glenda loved to spend time with all her family, playing bingo and going to yard sales. She was known for always having a joke to tell. Glenda was a babysitter to many children in her years and loved to see them grow up.  The family would love to thank Northwood Care, for the homecare she received and also Melville Lodge staff for their compassionate care during her illness. Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., Halifax, where a service of remembrance will take place on Saturday February 28 at 1p.m. from the funeral home chapel. Donations can be made in Glenda's name to Salvation Army Breakfast Program.
