Obituary of Betty Rose Barry
66, Halifax, passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 4, 2015.
Family meant the most to Betty. She was a caretaker of everyone; making sure the needs of others were met and putting herself last. In her spare time she enjoyed bingo, Sunday afternoon Rumoli games, listening to music and family gatherings. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
Betty will lovingly be remembered and never forgotten by her children, George, Tanya (Derrick) and Blair Jr. (Angie). She was nanny to grandchildren, Jason, Kevin, Jessica, Sean, Zackary, Gracie, Matthew, Braden, Dakota and Blake; great granddaughter, Brooklyn. She will also be missed by, brothers and sisters, Tim, Brett, Nelson, Deanna, Margaret, Gladys, Gail and Rhonda. She was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Blair; parents, Nelson Buckley and Margaret Mitchell; brothers, Jack, Bill and Bub.
Family and friends are invited to share their memories of Betty on Friday, January 9 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at J. A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax. A service of remembrance will be held from the funeral home chapel on Saturday, January 10 at 11 AM, with Rev. Russell Saulnier officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Betty’s memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
