Obituary of Maragret Poulsen
Poulsen, Margaret Roberta (Doubleday)- Age 89, of Halifax, passed away peacefully at the Northwood at the Harbour Care Facility on December 29, 2014. Born on July 16, 1925 in Halifax, Margaret was a daughter of the late Robert and Matilda (Harnish) Doubleday. Margaret would always be up for a game of cards and would frequent the bingo hall with her daughter, Carol Ann. Margaret will be remembered for her love for animals. She will be missed by her daughters Carol Ann (Raymond) Sabine, Halifax; Sharon Reid, Herring Cove; Valerie Poulsen, Herring Cove; brothers Carl (Leona), Herring Cove; Clarence (Barbara), Herring Cove and Clifford (Helen), Herring Cove; sisters Jean Forhan, Bedford; Eleanor Gallant, Halifax; Geraldine (Bill) Melnyk, Ontario; Lorraine turner, Ontario and Carol (Vincent) Mickelberg, Herring Cove; grandsons Kevin, Williamswood; Donnie, Harrietsfield; Terry, Bayside; Chris, Herring Cove; and Jamie, Herring Cove; granddaughter Krista, Dartmouth; ten great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Gordon Kenneth Poulsen and sisters, Doris, Eileen "Mickey" and Betty. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of fourth floor at Northwood by the Harbour Facility for their care and compassion while caring for Margaret. Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., Halifax, (477-5601). A funeral service will take place at St. James Church, Herring Cove, on Monday, January 5 at 11am.
