Obituary of Patricia E. Snow
SNOW, Patricia "Pat" Elizabeth – Halifax, died on Friday, December 26, 2014 at the QEII New Halifax Infirmary. She was 51 years old. Pat was born on St. Patrick’s Day in Halifax to her parents, Rita (Turner) Snow and the late Ernest Snow. She attended Hants North Rural High School and graduated from Maritime Business College in 1997. She worked in many different jobs over the years and eventually found her niche and passion for her work at Arborstone Enhanced Care working in the kitchen and serving the residents there over the past 10 years. Pat dedicated her time to caring for her grandchild, Jesse "Squirt" Melanson. She was excited and looking forward to the birth of her future granddaughter, Brooklyn Elizabeth Faye Beaver. She was a loving and caring woman who loved to spend time with her family as family meant the most to her. Pat fought courageously and with a positive attitude through her various health challenges, dedicating a lot of her time to assisting others, especially her mother, in their day-to-day activities and living. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Pat is survived by her beloved daughters, Sarah "Nikki" (Cory) and Samantha Snow and grandson, Jesse Melanson, all of Halifax; brothers, Ernest "Ernie" (Nancy) Snow, Stewiacke, Gerald Snow, Halifax, Kenneth "Ken" (Darlene) Snow, Gaetz Brook, James "Jimmy" Snow, Dartmouth; sisters, Sandra McNeil, Redcliff, AB, Nancy Schnare, Halifax, Mary (Oliver) Barkhouse, Penbroke, Shirley DeWolfe, Halifax, and Sheila Snow of Halifax; she will be missed by two of her closest nieces, Tracy and Kelly Schnare, whom she loved dearly, along with 21 other nieces and nephews; 40 great nieces and nephews and 11 great-great nieces and nephews; best friends, Roseanne MacDonald and Darlene Langevine. Pat was predeceased by her son, David Ernest Charles Snow; brothers-in-law Daniel "Danny" McNeil, and Ronald "Ronnie" Schnare. Arrangements are under the care of J. A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, where a time of visitation and reception will take place on Friday, January 2 from 12-2 PM. A memorial service will follow at 2 PM in the funeral home chapel. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Pat’s life. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Canadian Cancer Society.
