Obituary of Leo Andrew "Joe" Shephard

Age 57, Beechville, It is with sad regrets that I announce the passing of my best friend and soul mate on October 27, 2014. He had the biggest smile on earth. I will miss him until I am with him again. Friday night bowling will not be the same with out you Hon. He was loved by all who knew him, and opened his heart to everyone. Born in Beechville, he was a son of the late Joseph and Martha (Curry) Shephard. Leo was a much loved and respected man by all who knew him. He is survived by wife Catherine Smith; children, Desienna, Lawrencetown; Deni, Beechville step children, Marcus, Lee, Talia and Kyan, all of Halifax; siblings, Susan, Quebec; Virginia, Martha, Marjorie, Doris, Michael and Ossie, all of Beechville; grandsons, Travon and Dondre and several other grandchildren; God mother, Gail Downey; God daughter, Shelley Asselin-Mason; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Viola and Shirley; brothers, Irvin, Sydney and Joey. Cremation has taken place under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd.. A service of remembrance will be held Saturday November 1 at 2p.m. from the Beechville Baptist Church, St. Margaret’s Bay Rd. Interment to take place at a later date.
