Obituary of Cecil Mayo

Age 70. It is with great sadness that we announce the Passing of Cecil Mayo on October 16, 2014 at 10:42 p.m. surrounded by his family and close friends. Born in Marystown Newfoundland on February 11, 1944 he was a son of the late Joseph and Albertha (Bertha Gover) Mayo. Cecil is survived by his wife of 47 years, Constance "Connie" Mayo; daughters Tina (Bob Lejeune) Mayo, Tammy Mayo and Tricia (Rod) MacLennan; grandchildren Janita, Shandi, Robert, Liam and Kylie; Great grandchildren Serenity and Avianna; special niece Alberta Moulton; nephew Randy Martin; close cousins Henry Gover, James Gover and Walter Mayo; step brother Joe Crew and half brother Edgar Mayo all of Newfoundland; special friends Howard and Pauline Blackmore, Cyril and Betty Bayers. Cecil was predeceased by brothers George, James Mayo and his beloved sister Becky (Gus) Martin and nephew James Martin. The family would like to send a special thanks to the Palliative care unit 7A at the Victoria General Hospital as well as express their great appreciation to Dr. Morzycki and Dr. Hugh Matheson. Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax where a celebration of life will be held Wednesday October 22 at 1:00pm in the funeral home chapel. Burial at a later date. Donations in Cecil’s name can be made the Palliative Care Unit 7A, Victoria General Hospital, Halifax.
