Obituary of Mary G. Leavens-Harrison

95, Halifax, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 in Arborstone Enhanced Care. Born in Halifax she was the daughter of the late Edward and Laura (Kerley) Carr. She is survived by sons, William "Bill" and Edward (Anne), both of Halifax, John Soper, Calgary, Reginald Harrison, Vancouver; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; brothers, Charles Nicholson, Cape Breton and Douglas Nicholson, New Brunswick. She was predeceased by husbands, Edward Soper, Reginald Harrison and Frederick Leavens; son, James Soper; brothers, George and Archibald Carr, Darrell Nicholson; sisters, Lillian Marriott and Ruth Woodworth.  Special thanks are extended to the staff of Arborstone Enhanced Care and to the pastors and congregation of Full Gospel Church for their compassionate care and support. Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, where visitation will be held on Friday, September 12, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 13 at 11 AM in Full Gospel Church, Pastor Gary Barrett officiating; reception to follow in the church hall. A private family interment will take place in Oakridge Memory Gardens, Lower Sackville. Donations in Mary’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
