Obituary of Mary Kathleen "Tootie" Billard (Ryan)

1946-2014, Halifax. It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Mary on March 6, 2014, at the Halifax Infirmary, QEII with her loving daughters by her side. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Bessie (Zinck) and Owen Ryan. Caring mother of Carol Ryan (Craig Storey), Cheryl Billard (Rick Boyce), Fathom Billard (Jason Evans); beloved grandmother of Mackenzie, Hudson, Brandon, Josh, Dakota, Rena and Erica; survived by brothers, Bernie, Clarence (Vera) and Robert Ryan; sisters, Vivian Turner and Betty Ryan (John); former husband, Ray Billard. She was predeceased by brothers, Patrick, Jimmy and Barry; sisters, Frances, Marion, Joan, Jacquelin, and Dianne. She will be lovingly missed and never forgotten by her family and friends. Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. (477-5601). As per Mary’s wishes, there will be a private family visitation. Interment at a later date. Donations may be made in her memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or the QEII Foundation Palliative Care Unit.
