Obituary of Luke Anthony Francis

80, Hatchet Lake, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 3, 2014, at home. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Luke and Lillian (McCormack) Francis. Luke was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He will be lovingly remembered by sister in-law, Gladys Clements and his longtime friends and chosen family, Elaine and DJ Welsh. He was predeceased by his wife, Winnifred (Ware) and several siblings. Cremation has taken place under the care of J. A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. In keeping with Luke’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A graveside service for Luke and Winnifred will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery on Friday, March 7 at 11 AM. Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church or to a charity of one’s choice.
