Obituary of Tristan Oliver
Tristan passed away at home on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at the age of 16. He was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and was the son of Neville and Glenda (Voeltz) Oliver.
Tristan was a grade 11 student at J.L. Ilsley High School and was the captain of the Judges Football team. He loved his family, playing video games, biking, working out, music and he would be there for you when you needed him. He looked to the future with hope, ambition and dreams and in his short life he had already made great strides towards achieving those dreams. Tristan was excited about being accepted into the Army Reserves and planned to continue with the military following graduation. Right before our eyes he grew from a precious baby to a stoic young man and we are all so proud of what he accomplished in his time with us on earth. Those of us left behind to grieve the loss of our beloved Tristan can only hope that he is at peace and that time will lessen the pain in all of our hearts.
Tristan is survived by his parents, Neville and Glenda, and his siblings, Tyelisha, Tiffanee, Tyler and Tayh-Liyah, with whom he shared a loving childhood. Tristan also leaves behind his nieces, Brooklyn and T'Shyiah; best friend and nephew, Tyshon; maternal grandmother, Barbara Voeltz, all of Halifax. Tristan will be gravely missed by his many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, especially "The Boys". He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Bertina and Eric Oliver; grandfathers, Gary "Dada" Voeltz and Martin "Papa" Miller; aunt, Gail Voeltz.
