Obituary of Russell Kenneth Shaw

SHAW, Russell Kenneth:  53, Halifax, passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2014 at the QEII Halifax Infirmary, Halifax, NS with his loving family by his side.  Born in Halifax, NS, he is a son of Kenneth and Doris (Snyder) Shaw.  Russell had been employed with HRMParks and Grounds Division, from where he retired following 27.5 years of service.  He will be remembered for his love of four-wheeling and motorcycles. Russell was a loving son, father, uncle and grandfather. Russell will be lovingly remembered and never forgotten by  his parents, his loving wife, Florence Robinson, sister, Gail MacDonald (Robert), step-son, Reg Robinson (Darlene), step-grandchildren, Natasha and Eric, step-great-grandchildren, Hayden, Mackenzie and Charleigh, as well as a niece, Gillian, nephew, Joseph and very special aunt and uncle, Grace and Harold Boutilier.  He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Harry and Eleanor Snyder and paternal grandparents, Joseph and Mildred Shaw.  Special thanks from all his family to the staff of 8.2 at the QEII for their compassionate care and support. Cremation has taken place under the care of JA Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, NS (477.5601), where a memorial service will be held in memory of Russell on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at 1 PM in the funeral home chapel.  The family would appreciate donations to the SPCA or the Children’s Wish Foundation.
