Obituary of Vic "Archie" Perry
Perry, A. Victor "Vic/Archie/VVONV", 78 of Halifax passed away peacefully in his home in what he lovingly called the "skybox". Born in Halifax, May 24, 1935, he was the son of Joseph James and Mary Elise (Clausen) Perry. He is survived by his son James (Marlene); daughters, Donna (Dwayne Collicutt) Perry and Tara (Robbie) MacKay; son-in-law David Whitehead; sister, Petra Elise MacCallum-Birt; nine grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren to whom he was known as Gdad², and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded by wife Lois (Jollimore), and daughter Elisa Whitehead. Vic enjoyed his coffee and lively conversations with his friends and family at local coffee shops. Vic had a passion for F1 racing cars, with Ferrari always taking the pole position. Vic was an avid sailor and had a lifelong love of the ocean. He had a fascination with electronics. Seeking out and restoring antique radios was one of his passions.His eccentricity and dry humor will be remembered and missed by many.Cremation has taken place under the direction of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, 149 Herring Cove Rd, Halifax (902.477.5601). The family will be honouring Vic's wishes to not hold a service but will have visitation on Saturday December 7, from 2-4 p.m. at J.Albert Walker Funeral Home followed by a recpetion at the Spryfield Lion's Club on Drysdale Road. No flowers by request. Donations in memory of Vic can be made to a charity of one's choice.
