Obituary of Edward Joseph Dockrill

56. It is with heavy hearts that we announce his sudden passing on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at home in Dartmouth. Born in Halifax, son of Cyril and Mary (Keigan) Dockrill, Beechville. Eddy served with the Canadian Armed Forces. He was a past member of the Lakeside Royal Canadian Legion #156, and City of Halifax Regional Dart League. Eddy's greatest joy was his nieces and nephews; he took great pride in all of their accomplishments. He is survived by brothers, Mike, Lakeside; Robert (Cindy), Timberlea; Andy, Ontario; Stephen (Denise), Timberlea; sisters, Mary (Rick), Lakeside; Bernadette (Mark), Dartmouth; sister-in-law, Gwen Smith-Dockrill, Lakeside; 12 nieces and nephews, 4 great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother, Cy and nephew, Jason. Cremation has taken place under the care of J. A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Monday, November 4 at 11:30 a.m. from the funeral home chapel, followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Mental Health Foundation.
