Obituary of Genevieve Keddy

Keddy, Genevieve Catherine-95, of Halifax, formerly of Yarmouth, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 14, 2013 in NorthwoodCenter. Born in Yarmouth on January 4, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Winfield and Ivy Mae (Nickerson) Carter. Genevieve was the last surviving member of her immediate family of eleven siblings. She is survived by her two daughters, Barbara (Milton Chew), Halifax and Nancy (Lou Lesser), Yarmouth, five grandchildren, Rick, Robert and Randy Devine, Dan & Derek Lesser, fourteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband Sandy in 2011. Gen was a loving mother, grandmother and devoted wife to Sandy. Gen’s passion in life was her love of curling and golf. The family would like to thank the staff and Dr. Jack Sommers at Northwood for the wonderful care they gave her in the last five years as a resident in both the Manor and the Centre. A private family service will be held in the chapel at Northwood Nursing Home. Interment will be held in Yarmouth at the TownPointCemetery at a later date.
